I like the furniture to take on people’s identity, face, their story. I like it to be treated as if it were part of the family, as some clients, friends and people who are very loyal to these ideas and wishes, to these attempts at resolving or solving certain problems say.
I like that loyalty which is reciprocal, even when it is acquired by strangers, who I later get to know and “adapt” on site, changing the position or even when, years later, I am called to do some repair or restoration work.
I like that aging and the stories that those old pieces of furniture tell us, and sometimes I’m held hostage. Sometimes I am left dreaming in those pieces of life that design also created.
