“Front & Back” comes to the public as a periodic document on construction and innovation in Architecture. Besides the research on the theme of “Architecture and Ways of Building” through the analysis of works built in different times and places, we try to spread the different methods of conceiving architecture and above all to make known the necessary and increasingly fundamental connection (F. Távora), correspondence (A. Siza) or coherence (E. Souto Moura) between the ways of designing and the ways of building. It is essentially about Architecture and Ways of Building that this publication will deal with, bringing to the debate some of the concrete, physical and material aspects of architecture, the way of building it, and the elements necessary for a qualified passage from design to “work”.

Paradoxically, this publication will also seek to recover certain ideas, images that are apparently more “conservative”, because we will revisit methods, processes, ways of conceiving and of doing design, construction and architecture, with date but without age, and also without prejudice in wanting to bring invention, design, technology and our ingenuity into the daily lives of those who create, exploring the timeless foundations of interdisciplinarity, which make up the complex exercise of design and architecture.
